Hi,
As some of you know, I am normally based in the Ribble Valley, Lancashire as a newborn and family photographer. However, I do have strong links to my home town (Ulverston in south Cumbria). I try to get there as often as I can to visit friends and family. I went up for a flying visit earlier this month to take our two daughters to their friends (and my godsons) 4th birthday party. It was superhero themed and on their farm. For those who know me, you’ll know that it was right up my street! My youngest went as Captain America and my eldest went as Batman. Both in the tutu style dress version. They looked awesome! I did consider getting dressed up myself, but I couldn’t get an outfit on time….
Anyway, a couple of days before we went up, my new camera arrived. A shiny new Nikon D750. Eeeek! I was so excited. As you can imagine, I was keen to try it out. I am also wanting to go down the wedding photography route, so I thought – what better way to test it out than on one of my favourite couples? So after my girls had tired themselves out at the party, I took them back to my Mums house for bed. I then returned to farm. Sadly, the bouncy castle had already been collected, so I didn’t get to have a bounce once the kids weren’t there…. So I settled for taking photographs of Wendy and Ian instead. Birthday boy was tucked up in bed and his Grandma was watching him. We were good to go! So we made our way to the yard and took some gorgeous photos in one of the barns. They both pulled their faces as I climbed in to one of the lambing pens whilst wearing my brand new converse. Sometimes you have to do theses things to get the best images. Anyway, it had some hay bales in and the most amazing rustic old doors. I don’t think Wendy and Ian could understand why I was so excited about them. They could once they had seen the final results. We then made our way around the rest of the farm before heading off across the fields for a bit of a walk. The sun was going down, so I snapped away whilst they walked and talked.
I am so very proud of Wendy and Ian. They are childhood sweethearts who have been together for 20 years! They have a beautiful family and a lovely home. Keep up the good work guys.
