Ribble Valley & Lancashire Wedding and Newborn Photographer.
A couple of months ago, I was chatting with a good friend of mine, Jo from a cake occasion. She thought it would be fun for us to work together on a styled shoot. I automatically thought that it would be super fun!
So we got our heads together to decide on a theme and fabulous venue to do the shoot. We both agreed that boho theme was perfect and that we both loved The Shireburn Arms at Hurst Green. So I emailed Robyn, the events manager at The Shireburn Arms. She was keen to get involved. We were now ecstatic! From there, I spoke to Natalie from Victoria & Natalie Flowers, they were also keen to get involved. Get in! We were on a roll! I have worked with them in the past and love their floral designs, so I knew they’d do a good job.
A week or so later, I was at another wedding shoot and bumped into Nikki from Nikki Web hair and makeup. We got chatting, as you do. Turned out that she wanted in too. It was great as I had seen her in action and she was awesome. Later that week, I posted a few photos from that wedding. Another local supplier (Rachael from The Wedding Workshop) got in touch with me about them as she had liked how I worked. Turns out that she does wedding stationery and offered her help too. How amazing?
I had also been in chat with Liz from Orchid Designs in Clitheroe. I met Jo and her daughter Hannah (aka our bride model) at the shop. Liz had selected some beautiful wedding dresses out for Hannah to try. That lady seriously knows her job! They were all perfect! The first one Hannah tried on was the winner. So wedding dress, shoes and veil were now ticked off. Now we just needed a groom!
Liz suggested we went to see Deane at Attire of Clitheroe. He was so helpful and even suggested a friend of his to be the groom. Deane gave me his friends number and said to get in touch. So I messaged this friend, Alan and arranged to meet him at the shop the following week.
The week went and back to Attire I went. I felt a bit nervous. It was almost like going on a blind date, but for a groom model! In walked Alan. Boom, he was perfect! Deane sorted out a suit, waistcoat and matching bow tie. Perfect.
It was now that day of the shoot. I dropped my daughter off at preschool before heading up to The Shireburn Arms. I got there first (just the way I like it). The staff there couldn’t have been more helpful. As I was getting all my stuff inside (yes, that is the technical term), they made me a lovely latte. If you know me, you’ll know by know how much I love a coffee. The rest of the team arrived whilst I was setting up. Jo, Rachael and I got everything set up whilst Nikki worked her magic on Hannah. Hannah was feeling a little nervous as she had never done anything like this and she hadn’t met Alan at this point. In fact, no one had. They had put their trust in me…. Alan walked in at this point. All the ladies agreed he was perfect for our job.
We were now ready to rock ‘n’ roll! Hannah and Alan were like pros. they nailed it and worked really well together. This made my job so much easier as I had never done wedding photography with a non couple. Let alone a couple that had only met each other 30 minutes previously! The weather was just right too. No rain, no bright sun. Although poor Hannah did get a bit cold and had to pinch her Mum’s coat in between shots. The team were amazing. We soon got through the shots I wanted.
Perfect, because that meant it was lunchtime. It would have been rude not to stay and eat, so we did. The food was as amazing as always. I can recommend the Beef and Bowland Ale Pie. Yum!
I love shooting weddings and cover Lancashire, Yorkshire, Cumbria, Manchester and Cheshire (and pretty much anywhere else, if you ask nicely). Book your 2018 wedding photography for just £850 for a full day!
Thank you so much to everyone involved in making it happen.
