Beach Proposal Shoot

Last summer, I got this super sweet message from Alex asking if I could help him with a beach proposal shoot. He had it all planned out at Formby beach. A spot that means a lot to him and his partner, Izzy, since they love taking their dog, Sully, there for walks. I was honestly thrilled! There’s something so special about being part of moments like these, especially knowing that it’s just the beginning of their journey together.

The Big Day

On the big day, Alex sent me the meeting spot via what3words and shared some adorable photos of him and Izzy. But here’s the funny part, I decided to bring my family along. I thought I might feel a bit weird hanging out on the beach by myself with a camera. As we arrived, I had a mini freak-out when I realised there was no phone signal! Thankfully, I managed to find the right location without any drama. I setup my family for some “family day out” shots. Just trying to blend in as much as possible.

It’s happening….

Then, believe it or not, Izzy actually approached us! She offered to take a picture of us all together. How wild is that? After that brief moment of unexpected interaction, she and Alex wandered off. That’s when Alex popped the big question. It was a resounding yes from Izzy. She was beyond surprised to see me there, camera in hand! She had mentioned wanting a photographer and her family around when they got engaged, so it just felt meant to be. I managed to capture some truly stunning images of them celebrating together, with Sully joining the fun as well.

Just when I thought it couldn’t get any better, Izzy’s family came sprinting across the sandy beach, arms wide open for hugs. It was such a magical evening, full of love and laughter, and I can’t wait to share more of their story as they continue to grow together.
