Lancashire Wedding at The Shireburn Arms – Emma & John

Jul 12, 2023

The Shireburn Arms

You can really see why couples choose to have their Lancashire wedding at The Shireburn Arms. It is situated in the stunning Ribble Valley, Lancashire and has a relaxed vibe. It is actually on the Tolkein Trail, so as well as being an amazing pub wedding venue, it is also a great place to grab a drink or a bite to eat whilst on a walk! Another fact that blew my mind when I first moved to the Ribble Valley was that Stonyhurst College is just up the road from The Shireburn Arms. Stonyhurst Collage was featured in one of my favourite childhood films, Three men & a little lady!!

The Couple

John had set his eyes on Emma. His way of reaching out to her was to keep inboxing her emoji’s on Facebook. Emma ignored him for a while but eventually decided to see what he wanted. They went on their first date a week later on April fools day and the rest is history!

The Wedding Day

I met with the girls at Ribble Valley Holiday Homes in Ribchester for bridal preparations. As soon as I pulled up outside, I knew it was going to be a good day. I could hear the music blasting out from my car! I got inside and they did not disappoint! Within seconds of being there, it was like I’d known them all for years.

The Church

We made our way over to St Lawrence Church in Longridge to get Emma and John married! They chose to have family portraits, confetti and a few couples portraits in the church grounds before we made our way to The Shireburn Arms for the drinks reception. Whilst the guests were enjoying drinks and canapés, Emma and John asked if we could nip to Cromwell’s Bridge for some extra shots of them.

The Reception

Back at Emma & John’s Lancashire wedding at The Shireburn Arms, the fun morning vibes continued. Absolutely everyone was relaxed but up for a good laugh. The sun was shining brightly so we were able to make full use of the beautiful grounds. After a three course wedding breakfast and speeches, everyone was keen to get back out to make the most of the glorious day. I nipped Emma and John into the field behind to get a couple of epic golden hour portraits.

The Party

By now, The Shireburn Arms staff had changed the room around and Hooked Live Party Band were set up and ready to party!! Emma and John had opted to have a band and a DJ. In fact, their DJ (Shaun Brady) was in the band too! After a quick cake cutting (Jo from A Cake Occasion, once again absolutely smashed making their cake) and first dance, the guests who were a lively bunch soon jumped on the dance floor.

It was now time for me to say goodbye to everyone. But not before I got a delicious slice of pizza from Dough Boy!
