Northcote Hotel Wedding Photographer
I am so lucky to be a Lancashire based wedding photographer. Specifically based in the beautiful Ribble Valley. I am lucky to be surrounded by so many amazing wedding venues! Northcote Hotel being one of them. When Rachel was looking to book me as their Northcote Hotel wedding photographer, she asked if we could meet to discuss. I only live 5 minutes away from Northcote Hotel, so it was not a problem. Being a vet, I think Rachel was actually more keen to meet my tribe of miniature dachshunds!
Between petting my dogs and drinking brews, I asked why they had chosen Northcote Hotel to be their venue? I am very nosy and like to get to know people! Rachel said they wanted an intimate wedding and quality food and drink was important to them. Being a Michelin star restaurant, I knew they have chosen the perfect venue for their day.
Anyway, the meeting went well. We have a lot in common and they were keen to get their wedding date in my diary. Yippee!
The Wedding
Rachel and George’s wedding day was finally here! I met with Rachel, her 3 bridesmaids and her Mum in one of the beautiful bedrooms at Northcote Hotel for bridal preparations. Hair and makeup was in full flow and the girls had chosen the most random playlist I think I have ever heard! As I said, Rachel and George are food fans. You have guessed it, there was an amazing spread of all sorts of food and I got to help myself (I also love food!).
Everyone was now looking amazing and so we made our way over to the main building for the couples civil ceremony. But not before the girls made a couple of TikTok’s and Rachel’s Dad got a quick sneak peek of his gorgeous little girl. I arrived at the ceremony room first. George was eagerly waiting alongside his lad gang. He was pleased when I announced Rachel was just behind. A short and lovely ceremony later and we now had a new Mr & Mrs!
The Drinks Reception
The newlyweds were keen to get outside to see their dogs, Neville and Winston. I say dogs, Neville was more like a polar bear that wanted to jump up and hug everyone! Winston was too busy diving in bushes to see if anyone had dropped any scraps. During my earlier meeting with Rachel, she had asked me advice on confetti. My advice was that the paper discs are my favourite! They float down beautifully and can be seen well on camera. I recommended Flutter Darlings as they never let me down. I was excited to see that they had taken my advice. So, we did an epic confetti shot before making used of Northcote Hotels beautiful gardens for their couples portraits. Naturally, they opted to take their boys with them for some shot.
Like I said, these guys wanted minimal fuss so weren’t having an evening reception. So I left just after they were seating for their wedding breakfast. Even managing to pinch (not really, it was given to me) a doughnut to take with me to my daughters swimming lesson. Shorter days and shooting just round the corner from home has its perks!
