As a Browsholme Hall Wedding Photographer and Lancashire wedding photographer, it’s always extra special when I already know my couple before the wedding day. I first met Jane and Craig when Craig booked me for an equine shoot as a surprise gift for Jane. Being a fellow horsey girl myself, I just knew we’d get along brilliantly. We spent the loveliest day together with Archie and Mojo at Crow Wood. I had everything crossed that our paths would cross again.

A year later, they got back in touch to ask if I was available to photograph their wedding at Browsholme Hall. The answer was a very easy yes!

A Beautiful Autumn Wedding in the Ribble Valley

Being a Lancashire wedding photographer based in the beautiful Ribble Valley, I’m so fortunate to work at some of the most incredible venues. Browsholme Hall is definitely one of them. The Tithe Barn is full of character and the surrounding grounds are stunning in every season.

Jane and Craig chose to marry in autumn and it was one of those perfect crisp days. The rich seasonal colours across the grounds created the dreamiest backdrop for natural, relaxed wedding photography.

I’ll admit, I was slightly sad not to see Jane’s horses make an appearance on the big day! But I was very pleased to see Alfie, their gorgeous springer spaniel, who completely stole the show (and a few cuddles).

Incredible Florals & Lakeside Portraits

Their florals were honestly some of the best I’ve ever seen. The standout moment was a huge circle of floor flowers that they stood within during their ceremony. Romantic, dramatic and completely unforgettable.

For portraits, we hopped on the golf buggy and headed down to the lake. Although they decided not to take the rowing boat out, the lake and glowing autumn trees gave us the most beautiful setting.

Work Hard, Party Harder

When Jane first booked me as their Browsholme Hall wedding photographer, she told me they work hard and party even harder. She was absolutely right. As soon as the evening celebrations began, they were straight onto the dance floor. The perfect ending to a beautiful Browsholme Hall wedding. Full of love, laughter and one very good party.

After meeting Leyah and Kevin for their pre-wedding shoot at Lytham Beach last summer (you might remember that blog. It really was epic! Check it out here), I was so excited for their Bartle Hall wedding photography.

From the start, I knew their wedding day would be special. They are such a beautiful couple, inside and out. They’re warm, relaxed and completely smitten with each other. Which makes my job as a Lancashire wedding photographer an absolute dream.

Getting Ready at Bartle Hall

One of the best parts of the day? They both chose to get ready at Bartle Hall. This made everything feel calm and seamless. I was able to capture Leyah’s bridal prep in the morning, full of laughter and happy nerves. Then I headed over to Kevin and the boys, where the atmosphere was equally excited (with a few jokes thrown in, of course!). Having everything in one venue always makes wedding mornings flow beautifully.

Sunshine, Portraits & The New Courtyard

We were incredibly lucky with the summer weather. It was a gorgeous sunny August day, which meant we could spend loads of time outside. And if you know me, you’ll know I love natural light. The gardens at Bartle Hall are perfect for romantic portraits. The sunshine just made everything glow! Even better, Bartle Hall had just upgraded their courtyard and I couldn’t wait to see it in person. It did not disappoint! The space is stunning. Modern, elegant, and perfect for portraits. I made sure to use it during the day and then again in the evening for some cheeky extra shots once the party was underway. The evening atmosphere there is just beautiful.

A Dance Floor to Remember

Speaking of the party… Leyah and Kevin’s friends and family really knew how to celebrate. The dance floor was full all night long. Exactly how it should be. So much energy and loads of laughter. This is exactly why I love Bartle Hall wedding photography. It’s a venue that gives you elegance, gorgeous outdoor space, and the best party atmosphere all in one. I genuinely can’t wait to be back in the future.

When Emily and Brandon first got in touch about their wedding last summer, I knew it was going to be something special. I love being a Holmes Mill wedding photographer. Along with being an awesome wedding venue, it is only 10 minutes away from my house! Talking about distances, Emily and Brandon live just ten miles from my hometown and I now live ten miles from theirs. Small world, right? From the very first message, everything just clicked into place.

The Wedding

After getting ready at Emily’s sister’s house, Emily and Brandon had a heartfelt ceremony at their family church. This is the first church I have been in where the pews made the congregation sit backwards! After a lovely ceremony and some family pictures, we headed over to Holmes Mill in Clitheroe. I was instantly excited to be part of it. It’s such an incredible venue, and their ideas for the day were full of personality and fun.

The Reception

The reception was next level. They had hired out duckpin bowling in the Boiler House. Brilliant, right? Then there was beer pong back upstairs. Naturally, I was fully on board. Brandon and his groomsmen loved the competitive vibes. Of course, when Brandon asked me to, I couldn’t resist joining in! One of my favourite moments was Brandon’s proud grin when I beat his cousin. Honestly, being a Holmes Mill wedding photographer sometimes means getting stuck into the fun too!

Even with a few rain clouds threatening to make an appearance, nothing could dampen the mood. In fact, the weather tried really hard, but it failed. The day was full of laughter, love, and just the right amount of friendly rivalry. Emily and Brandon’s wedding was awesome to photograph. Days like this remind me why I love what I do.

Vanessa & Hannah asked me if I was available to be their Rivington Hall Barn wedding photographer. I was! Honestly, I am so glad as their day was epic! It was my first time at this venue and you know how much I love discovering new spots. Plus, these two ladies just seemed like the most incredible people; such fun vibes! Vanessa described herself as the loud, over-the-top one, and Hannah as the quiet, reserved counterpart, which made me laugh.

The wedding day

On the big day, they both got ready in the same house but kept themselves 100% separate, well apart from a first touch. This is where they got to touch hands around a corner before their wedding ceremony. Anyway, one room was bursting with energy, while the other had this calm, collected vibe. Can you guess which bride was in which room? The contrast was just perfect and set the tone for the day. When it came time for their celebrant-led ceremony, it felt so personal and beautiful. The summer weather was on our side, allowing everyone to sip drinks outside while a fantastic female vocalist from DFC set the mood. Seriously, you could feel the magic in the air, and it was just the beginning!

We snuck off for some couple portraits nearby, and the backdrop was stunning! I mean, these ladies looked gorgeous! They had also brought along some smoke bombs for their bridal party to get involved. It was chaotic, hilarious and amazing all at the same time.

Party time

For their wedding breakfast, they went for this incredible summer BBQ, which was downright delicious. As the evening rolled in, Jon Kane from DFC kept the energy high, and trust me, the dance floor was on fire! I knew from moment one that the guests would be ready to party, and they definitely did not disappoint. One of the major highlights for me was helping Vanessa onto a rodeo bull while she was still in her wedding dress. Talk about a unique wedding moment! Honestly, it was a day filled with fun, laughter, and memories that I won’t forget anytime soon. I can’t wait to go back to this venue in the future and also to follow Vanessa and Hannah’s adventures.

Can you believe 2025 is already in the rearview mirror? It feels like just yesterday we were welcoming the new year with all the excitement and anticipation it brings. This year has been nothing short of amazing, filled with beautiful moments and incredible couples who made every wedding feel like a unique story waiting to be told. Honestly, I can’t express enough how much I appreciate the journey I’ve been on, especially as I celebrated my 9th year as a professional photographer and my 8th year diving into the vibrant world of being a relaxed Lancashire wedding photographer.

Living in the Ribble Valley is such a blessing, with picturesque backdrops and dreamy venues all around me. I often remind myself how fortunate I am to call this area home, surrounded by stunning locations. The heart of Lancashire has been the backdrop for many beautiful ceremonies this year, and I’m thrilled to have spent so much time capturing those special moments here. I did venture a bit further afield, documenting weddings in the breathtaking Lake District and the lively city of Manchester, even though for the first year, I missed out on some spots like Chester, Yorkshire, and Merseyside.

2025 facts

Now, about the names…. I think it’s worth mentioning that Andrew has dominated the groom scene this year! And for the ladies, we had a tie between Rachel and Victoria for the most popular bride names. Such fun little details to keep track of!

I shot weddings for the first time at 8 different venues across the North West, including Didsbury House Hotel twice within a few weeks!

As I look ahead to 2026, I’m really excited about the new venues I get to explore, like Rylands Farm House, Oh Me Oh My, and The Garden at Eden. It’s always exciting to step into new venues and get the creative juices flowing.

The thank yous

A massive shoutout to all the incredible couples who placed their trust in me this year. You made everything so enjoyable and fulfilling! And, of course, my heart goes out to the wonderful suppliers I worked alongside. You guys know how to keep the vibes high and the energy flowing. Lastly, to my family and friends who have been my rock throughout this journey, thank you for your ongoing support. Let’s see what 2026 has in store!

When Charlotte and Rob asked me to be their Chester Zoo wedding photographer, It was a massive yes from me! I mean, an entire day surrounded by animals and love? Sign me up right now! I’ve always been a huge animal lover, so it felt like a match made in heaven.

Before the big day, we did a pre-wedding shoot in the Ribble Valley, and oh boy, was it a laugh! Picture this: we’re trying to get some lovely couple shots, and out of nowhere, a bunch of sheep decided they wanted to join in. Talk about an unexpected twist! It totally made the shoot so much fun, and honestly, how fitting that we had some woolly friends crash the party?

The Wedding

Fast forward to their wedding day. I met up with the bridal party at The DoubleTree by Hilton, just down the road. If you can imagine a scene filled with excitement, that was it. The girls were getting ready. Even their family dog made a cameo for some cute pictures. I mean, who doesn’t love some puppy love? Then we made our way to Chester Zoo for the ceremony in the beautiful Courtyard. It was a gorgeous, hot August day, perfect for a celebration.

After they tied the knot, the fun really started. We took a stroll around the zoo for some couples portraits, which was awesome! Seeing wedding guests in their elegant outfits mingling with families in shorts and t-shirts was the best sight. Charlotte had brought her Converse for the walk. It added a relaxed vibe that perfectly matched the day. It wasn’t just about the wedding for me; it was about capturing the spirit of the zoo and the joy of the moment, and lucky for us, some of the animals seemed to want to join the festivities too!

The Evening

Once we got back inside for the wedding breakfast and speeches, there was more entertainment with two amazing magicians. We were then spoilt with a gorgeous golden hour. It created the most beautiful light for portraits before everyone hit the dance floor. It truly was a day filled with laughter, love, and the sheer joy of being surrounded by both animals and people having a great time. These are the moments that make my heart full and remind me why I love what I do. It’s not just about capturing wedding photos; it’s about creating memories that will last a lifetime

What Charlotte & Rob had to say….

I first saw Jane’s work at a friend’s wedding, before we were even engaged! I loved the bright, happy vibe of her work immediately. When we got engaged and started wedding planning, I got in touch with Jane as soon as we set a date at our venue. I found that my unusual venue (Chester zoo!) was a good selling point for all my vendors, and when I mentioned that to Jane she jumped at the chance to shoot there, and let’s be honest… who can blame her?

We met Jane for a pre wedding shoot a few weeks before the wedding, and she immediately put us at ease. As a couple who are certainly awkward being posed for photos, she helped is to relax in front of the lens.

Because we’d met Jane prior to the wedding day, upon her arrival she blended in and felt like part of the wedding party, like I’d known her for years! Jane and Clare (her 2nd shooter) on the day were great. They swiftly rounded everyone up for the group photos efficiently, allowing our guests to spend as much time as possible to wander round the zoo. They also kept checking in on Rob and I to ensure we were OK on what can be a very overwhelming day!

We had our own little zoo trip, and the photos we have are truly incredible. Jane has such an incredible talent for capturing the day in the most natural way, whilst also getting the perfect shot. Seeing how much passion and excitement Jane and Clare had on the day taking the photos was also so lovely, and that passion is really reflected in the shots we got!

Words cannot describe how pleased we are with our wedding photos. Everyone we show the photos to comments on how fab they are. I look at the gallery probably on a daily basis. Jane is just fabulous and I would 100000% recommend her as a wedding photographer (and an animal photographer too!). Thank you so much, Jane!

When Will & Clare contacted me, they told me I had shot a friend of Will’s wedding from football. I love getting direct referrals from previous couples. It’s always such a boost. From first speaking to them, I could tell we would hit it off. I mean, how can you not get excited when you’re talking about a summer wedding at Stirk House in Lancashire? And when they mentioned their adorable fox red Labrador, Arlo, would be in attendance, I was over the moon! Being a dog lover myself (I have three mini dachshunds), I’m all about furry friends at weddings.

The Wedding

The day was just filled with little moments that made everyone laugh and smile. I can’t tell you how many times I heard “Old MacDonald Had a Farm” being sung by Clare and her girls to keep those happy tears at bay! It turned into a sort of unofficial anthem for the day. Then, during the civil ceremony, the emotion hit a peak as I saw tears in Will’s Grandma’s eyes while she watched her grandson marry Clare. Just thinking about it still gives me chills!

With the sun shining down, guests enjoyed refreshing drinks and nibbles in the beautiful Stirk House grounds, making the atmosphere even more perfect.

When it came time for couples portraits, Clare and Will had said they were both nervous about being romantic in front of the camera. But honestly, they completely nailed it! They naturally clicked and had such a fun time during the shoot. We laughed together so hard. And let’s not forget about Dave, Stirk House’s own Toastmaster. What a guy! He’s got this incredible energy that matches mine perfectly. We always have the best time.

All The Dancing

As night fell, the dance floor erupted into an epic celebration. Everyone was ready to dance like no one was watching. But I was and they knew it! I’m usually on stealth mode during weddings, but not when it comes to the dance floor. I like to join everyone. I swear the energy in the room was contagious! The whole day felt so alive. There were so many amazing moments during Clare & Will’s day and I can’t wait for more wedding stories just like this one!

I was absolutely buzzing when Ellena and Darcy asked me to be their The Glass House, Staining Lodge wedding photographer. The excitement hit me even harder when I rolled up to their house for the bridal preparations. Seriously, I don’t think I was prepared for how stunning it was inside! Darcy, being a builder, had been hard at work renovating the place, and wow, he really knocked it out of the park. It’s so beautiful and stylish. Such a beautiful backdrop for the day ahead! And while Darcy transformed their nest, Ellena was busy plotting the perfect wedding. I had chatted with her beforehand, and as a fellow mini dachshund owner, I was excited to meet their two little sausages, Tallulah and Martha.

The day was just filled with good vibes right from the start. Ellena made sure I felt part of the crew, even including me in the personalized gifts for her bridesmaids. You could just feel the love and excitement in the air, which made my job so much easier. Then, when we headed over to The Glass House at Staining Lodge, the weather decided to throw a curveball and drench us with rain. But you know what? This couple didn’t let it put a damper on their spirits at all. After a beautiful civil ceremony, we snagged some stunning portraits by the fireplace in the side dining room. I was so thankful for that room!

Rain. Who cares?

But….. Ellena isn’t one to shy away from an adventure! She was happy to go outside for portraits, despite the rain. I mean, who doesn’t love a bold shot in a downpour? We dashed out for a quick five minutes in the torrential rain, and honestly, those images turned out to be some of my favorites! How stunning did they look? After their first dance, Ellena changed into a second wedding dress (technically third as she arrived in a white dress from her hen party) that was perfect for the dance floor. You could feel the energy surge as the party kicked off.

To top it all off, I got to work with some of my favorite wedding suppliers, which always makes the day smoother and more fun. There’s something about all that talent coming together that elevates the whole experience! So all in all, it was a fabulous day, rain and all.

Oh my gosh, I just have to share this incredible wedding I had the pleasure of capturing recently! When Vicky & Joe asked me to be their Hobbit Hill wedding photographer, I immediately said yes! Knowing them already through horses, I just knew what kind of vibe it would be. Vicky and Joe are such a fun couple and I knew their day would be unforgettable.

St. Peter’s Church, Salesbury

They chose Vicky’s childhood church in Salesbury for their wedding ceremony. She used to sing in the choir there as a child, which already had me feeling all the feels. Can you believe that her retired vicar even came back to do a reading? How sweet is that? It was like stepping into a beautiful memory for Vicky; you could see how much that place meant to her.

Hobbit Hill

Then, talk about the perfect reception venue! As I said, they decided on Hobbit Hill in the Ribble Valley, which is totally fitting because they are both massive fans of Lord of the Rings. It was amazing to see little nods to their fandom sprinkled throughout the day. And let’s not forget about the live music! Since Vicky is a wedding singer and Joe sings & plays in a band, the live music theme ran through the entire celebration. It created this amazing, lively atmosphere that you could just feel in the air.

When it came time for the couple’s portraits, they were simply a dream. They were so natural in front of the camera, almost like they forgot I was there! We even managed to sneak away for some stunning golden hour shots by the River Ribble, and oh my goodness, the light was just perfect. Honestly, can we just rewind and do it all again?

You know those days when everything just clicks? That was totally the vibe when Leyah and Kevin and I headed out for their engagement shoot at Lytham. They had already booked me for their Bartle Hall wedding – super exciting! Then, they decided to throw in a pre-wedding shoot, which I’m always a fan of. It’s like a little warm-up for the big day. You get to practice in front of the camera, stretch those posing muscles a bit, and there’s no pressure to get it perfect since it’s just practice, you know?

The day was here….

So, I made my way to Lytham, hoping Leyah would surprise me with one of those amazing floaty dresses. And boy, did she deliver! She stepped out of the car looking absolutely stunning. I was instantly thrilled. The chemistry between the three of us was electric – it felt like we’d known each other for ages. Leyah and Kevin were super chill and totally open to anything I suggested, which is the dream for someone in my shoes (or sandy feet).

Now, I did spot a puddle on the beach that would make for a killer reflection shot, but it meant we’d probably get a bit muddy. Not a big deal, right? I held my breath for a second, but Leyah and Kevin were all in with no hesitation. They trusted my vision completely and let me tell you, the shots we got were stunning! The reflections and the way the light danced around them turned out amazing. Definitely worth the little bit of muck!

As we wrapped up the shoot, I couldn’t help but feel giddy about their upcoming Bartle Hall wedding this summer. If their engagement session was anything to go by, the wedding day is going to be a blast! I’m so looking forward to capturing more incredible moments and building on that fantastic connection we made at Lytham. It feels like it’s going to be one for the books!
