Bashall Barn Wedding Photographer – Lauren & Andy

The Proposal

It is no surprise that Lauren thought Andy was joking when he popped the question. It is something he had done before whilst on holiday for a free bottle of bubbly! On this occasion, he was actually prepared. Lauren had arranged a meal with friends and family for her birthday. The evening had been a disaster! The orders were all wrong and the service had been terrible but Andy rescued it by asking her to be his wife. Lauren’s initial reaction was to ask if he was joking before bursting into tears and saying YES!! Next job, they booked me as their Bashall Barn wedding photographer! Yippee!!

Bashall Barn, Lancashire

This gorgeous pair had originally planned on getting married abroad but changed their mind, brought it forward and chose to have a spring wedding at Bashall Barn which is situated in the heart of the Ribble Valley, Lancashire. Bashall Barn is actually one of my favourite wedding venues and I shoot there a lot. It is light and airy, it has absolutely stunning views, the staff are all amazing and it is only 15 minutes from my home.

Lauren had 5 bridesmaids, 3 of which are her daughters and her son gave her away. How special is that? The couple chose to have a wedding celebrant rather than a registrar (just to clarify, a wedding with a celebrant isn’t legal but they did legally marry a few days earlier. Do you know what? It was really good fun! They wrote their own vows, had an interactive game of Mr & Mrs with their wedding guests and even played rock, paper, scissors to see whose embarrassing story went first.

Like I said, I shoot at Bashall Barn a lot. If you have ever been, you will know that they have cows in the cow shed. When it comes to couples portraits, some couples love to go in and others aren’t so keen! Lauren & Andy were 100% up for going in to meet them.

I loved every minute of Lauren & Andy’s wedding. They were so much fun and I wish them luck for their future together.

All wedding pictures are beautiful however, when I saw these my heart melted. The day has been captured perfectly from start to finish and every picture adds to the story. I hope this blog reminds everyone of what a glorious day this was. Even the sun made an appearance. Perfection from start to finish.

Jane, you are a superb photographer and I wish you well for the future.
