Lake District Wedding Photographer – Lauren & Henry

May 17, 2023

The Lake District

Like Henry, I am also originally from Cumbria. I absolutely love being a Lake District wedding photographer! It holds a special place in my heart. I spent loads of time exploring with friends and family. Whenever I am given the opportunity to go back, I am all over it! So, When Lauren & Henry made contact and asked me if I could shoot their Easter wedding at Braithwaite, Keswick, I jumped at the chance.

About Lauren & Henry

Lauren & Henry met at the back end of 2020. Remember that awful year? Luckily, That year turned out to be a good year for them! Anyway, they met when Henry went to drop something off for Lauren’s housemate. They both knew from the second they first met that they wanted to be with each other. But….. they didn’t admit it to each other until lockdown 2.0 and went on their first date. 8 months later, they went on a trip to the Lake District. Henry arranged a sunset picnic which overlooked Derwent Water and that is where he proposed. How magical is that?

Their Lake District Wedding

Lauren & Henry Chose to get married at Braithwaite Institute. The reason they chose this lovely little village hall is because when Henry was growing up, he attended at youth camp there every summer. Henry says this is where he found God and himself. Now, I say village hall, it’s not as you are picturing in your head. Lauren & Henry got some help from DTL Marquee Hire to totally transform the room. Along with that, their friends and family went to town on decoration. It looked amazing!

Both Lauren & Henry have strong Christian beliefs and wanted an extra special wedding. They chose to have a registry office wedding in the days running up to their day. That way, Henry’s Dad was able to do a blessing on their actual wedding day which fell on Easter weekend. They also have a church band perform during the ceremony. Absolutely everyone loved it and the room came alive!

After the wedding ceremony, we took a quick drive back to Derwentwater Hotel for couples portraits on the edge of Derwent Water itself. I mean, you can’t get married by a Lake in the Lake District and not take full advantage! It was so much fun!

Lauren & Henry are an amazing couple and I can’t wait to see where their future takes them.

Lots of love,

Jane xx
