The couple – Lauren & David.
I first met Lauren & David in Lancashire when I was the wedding photographer for their friends. David was actually their best man, so I got to know them pretty well. I was absolutely delighted when they contacted me and asked me to shoot their Liverpool wedding!
When I asked Lauren what she loved most about David, she said his infectious smile. I 100% know where she is coming from. He never stops smiling. Mind you, neither does she! They are so easy to be around. Like me, they can chat and laugh all day long.
The wedding – sneak peak.
I met Lauren at her mums home for bridal preparations. Her and her Mum were also joined by 4 bridesmaids and another best friend who adopted the role of chief helper. Although Lauren had a hair and makeup artist there, she opted to have hers done by her Mum, Nicki. As a child, Lauren used to dance so her Mum became a dab hand at doing it. We were also joined by Matt Jones, a wedding videographer. We work together loads so it’s always good fun when we team up.
Lauren & David opted to get married at St Anne’s Church. This Church means a lot to Lauren as she sings with the choir there. As a surprise, her and 2 of her bridesmaids got up and sang with them after the wedding ceremony! If you follow my work, you will know I am a sucker for a confetti shot. Lauren & David had taken my advice and bought plenty of large colourful confetti. They also bought bubbles! I was so excited! I have a feeling that when I deliver their wedding gallery, there maybe confetti overkill!
We then made our way to Malmaison, Liverpool for the wedding reception. There are so many amazing backdrops close by for stunning wedding portraits. Again, I was so excited. Most of my weddings are in the country (and I love that!) but I do love it when I get a city wedding for a change.
Lauren’s beloved Grandmother sadly passed away earlier this year (she wore her ring as her something old – I love that!). As a surprise for her Grandad, once her and David shared their first dance, she had a dance with him. It was even more special as they danced to the song that her Grandma and Grandad had for their first dance. How amazing is that?
