Bashall Barn Wedding

Steph & Stuart chose to have a Bashall Barn wedding. It is situated in the heart of the Ribble Valley, Lancashire and it suited them down to the ground. Being local farmers, they chose to have a farm themed wedding. A friend dropped off an old school tractor to sit outside, all the wedding stationery has drawings of cows on them, the tables were named after cow breeds and local florist, Laura from The Flower Girls (also a local farmer) made some beautiful displays in vintage milk churns. Bashall Barn looked incredible! In fairness, it always does. I shoot there a lot.

Dogs at Weddings

Not only did Steph have 4 bridesmaids, she also had their fox red Labrador, Bonnie with them. I absolutely love dogs at weddings so I was pleased when they told me she was coming along. That being said, Bonnie had the rings tied to her collar. The girls couldn’t work out the logistics of how to get Bonnie to the best man without being pulled over so I offered to take her as I needed to go before them anyway. I was warned that she pulled. I joked that I have 4 dogs (sadly only 3 now) and I’d be fine. Anyway, they weren’t wrong! The second she spotted Stuart, she dragged me to him! Anyway, she behaved herself throughout the wedding ceremony and only almost pulled Jimmy, the best man over when the rings were needed!

Farm Animals at Weddings

The newlyweds were keen to nip back to their farm which is about 10 minutes away for some photographs with their own cows! Bashall Barn usually have their own in their cow shed but it isn’t guaranteed. On this particular day, they were out. Being an animal lover, I was keen to take them myself and I am so glad we did!

Jane at Weddings

Steph & Stuart booked me as they loved my natural wedding photography. I spend most of my day blending in and getting natural shots of the couple and guests. When it comes to couples portraits, I try and encourage the couples be as natural as possible but I do offer tips as to how to get the most of the session and also how best to stand. These guys didn’t need much help, they were absolute pros!

I had such a lovely day, shooting their wedding. All their friends and family were so lovely. I really do have the best job ever. Fact!

Jane xx

Jane was amazing so helpful all day. She also captured all the small details of the day. I’ve got so many beautiful pictures from the day and I can’t pick my favourites x
